Happy Birthday finally ends. . .!

We drug Peyton's birthday celebration out for about 3 weeks. How cool is that!!

And it will be stretched a bit farther because as a family we had a choice with birthday's this year. It was all or nothing for the whole family.

Here was the deal:

No friend birthday parties.

No birthday presents from Mom or Dad.

No birthday presents for Mom or Dad.

No dinner out at a restaurant.

We can have a dinner at our house with family. Birthday person's choice.

In exchange we would go to Southern California as a family.

Go to Disneyland.

Go to Legoland.

Go to the beach.

I gave everyone the deal and then told them they could think about it. It took about a week and after finding out that it was highly likely that they would still get presents from grandma's and grandpa's and cousins, we were on.

So we will be going later on. The kids don't know when. They keep trying to get me to tell them but I told them it was surprise! They will never know when we might pull them out of school and just head to the airport.

February 20, 2011--THE REAL BIRTHDAY!!

Cookies on a stick, dinner and presents at Grandma and Grandpa's house in Utah when we went the first of February. Yummy Chicken Cordon Bleu, one of Peyton's favorites (thanks Aunt Andrea!)

LEGO cake the week after his birthday. Dinner at our house with Joe's family--Meemo and Grandfather, Matt and Andrea, Grace, Keith, and Max and Derek, Selina, and William. This time it was lasagna, salad, french bread. (and chicken noodle soup--as Peyton's tummy has been a bit off)

More money for his birthday. Remember he is still saving for that LEGO deathstar (Star Wars). It costs $399.99 (that's right you heard me). He won't buy anything else with his money. We counted it all up today and he has $303.00. WOW!! He's getting close. Joe thinks we should give him all the options that he can buy with that amount of money before purchasing it. Probably not a bad idea!
