Pony Rides and Spray Park

In an attempt to experience the greater Seattle area this go round we will be sharing with you our exciting adventures. Lucky you!!
We headed north of Seattle yesterday
about 1 1/2 hours to La Conner and Mt Vernon. . .

We headed up north yesterday to spend the day with Joe's parents and his sister's 3 kids (they are staying with Joe's parents while Matt and Andrea get to go on a cruise sans kids. Lucky!!) Here's what we found to do. . .
Lang's Pony Farm--in the Little Mountain area of Mt. Vernon. The kids all got to go on a 15 minute pony trail ride. Addison rode Tinker. Max rode Gus. Keith rode a horse we can't remember the name of. Grace rode Pirate and Peyton rode Cinnamon. And Meemo and I walked along side in the poop and mud :)
Spray park in Mt. Vernon--18th and Division--lots of water and a fun park. Can't beat that.
Puget Sound outside of Joe's parents-La Conner. The tide was in so the kids were playing around in the salt water before dinner.

Zookeepers!!

My kids are learning to be zookeepers this week. They are pet sitting for some friends of our in Washington that tease that they have "a zoo". I don't know about a zoo but there are a number of little pets. They are below, minus the gerbil and the dog. Peyton is actually quite good at the feeding part and the cuddling with the guinea pigs. Addison just runs around, talks a lot, and asks for a treat every 2 seconds. Mom does the cleaning of the cages :) I am the lucky one :)

3 Birds

Dear Peyton and Addison, (#1)

Dear Peyton and Addison,
Thank you for playing with each other so nicely last night. It was so cute to see you both dressed up, "to go to a dance" and getting along so well. I am sorry that Mommy is so easy to get upset these days. I think it is an adjustment for all of us after the last 6 months. Please help me to be more patient. I do love you both and don't know what I would do without either of you. Thank you for being so quick to forgive.

Easy Peasy

Kids are great. They seem to adjust very quickly. "Easy Peasy" for them. Here they are in 60 ish degree weather yesterday running through the sprinkler, while I am inside watching thinking Brrrrr.
While I know that we are in the right place right now. I miss the warm weather in Utah. I miss my husband (who is in Atlanta this week). I miss my family. I miss my friends.
I am sure it will all get better!!

Happy Birthday Grandma!!

Happy 80th Birthday Grandma Della!! We love you!

She turned 80 and we wish we could have been there. The kids love to go walk down to the park or up at the cemetary to see the horses or bunnies. We'll miss our walks!! But we'll see you in Seattle in the Spring. Love you Grandma!!

Dear Friends and Family in Utah. . .

Dear Friends and Family in Utah,

We love and miss you already! We wish that we didn't have to move on in our lives and life could stay the way it was. But "something" calls us in Seattle. Now we just have to find out what it is :)

Please know that we are grateful for your friendship and we look forward to many more years of seeing what you and your kids are doing. You mean a lot to us and we wish you all great things in life. If you are ever in the Northwest you are always welcome in Seattle (well Sammamish really). Just give us a bit of notice :)

Love,

The Wymans
Joe, Heather, Peyton, Addison, and J.D.

Froggy Field Day

Froggy Field Day--Might be the best day of the summer ever for the Peterson grandkids (if you are older than 2 yo). They fly balloon kites, do relay races, pin the fly on the frog, bean bag tosses, eat lunch, decorate cupcakes, etc. All with no parents!!

My fabulous parents throw a field day in the summer for the grandkids. This is the 2nd annual field day with the them of frogs!! It is heaven for kids and heaven for parents.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Stars and Stripes Forever

We spent the 4th of July at my parents (well the kids and I have actually spent the last 5 weeks there). We had a picnic and the kids got to play in the water and with the super soakers, have dinner and fireworks!! The kicker is it wasn't even dark when we did the fireworks because they were all getting tired and crabby. But they still LOVED them!

I am not sure what this song is but the kids were loving the $100 worth of fireworks I bought (which by the way is not much!) Luckily they are excited over very small things. If only we could all be like that

":Oh, oh, oh, It's Magic. . ."

Peyton had a Magician show for an after school activity at Timpanogos, but we could not go because of a soccer game for Peyton. And since I was the coach I didn't feel like we could skip it. He was totally bummed though because his teacher had said "this was the best magician in Utah" So we looked him up online http://www.utahmagic.com/ and found that he did shows. So we thought that it would be fun to have our own going away party :) So we hired him and had a hotdog BBQ at the park and he did a very good show. The kids loved it and the adults as well. Thanks Paul!! And thanks to all of our friends and family who came. We love you all!!

Babies and Dinosaurs

My sister had a beautiful baby boy on June 14th (just before we left for California). So when we came home we took her oldest off to the Dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point and to get ice cream cones at McDonalds. Yum!

Whirlwind of a trip

We had a wonderful trip to Southern California. We got to see the new "World of Color" at California Adventure, we went to Malibu, Universal Studios, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, and of course Disneyland and lots of pool time. Until next time. . .

She called me "Shuga"

After moving successfully to Seattle I am now ready to continue the blogging. We went to Southern California in June with our friends and Addison was luck enough to meet the princesses. She was so in awe of them all. But when she went to meet Princess Tiana from Princess and the Frog she came back to me so excited. I had not heard what they were talking about but evidently Princess Tiana called her "Shuga" and she loved it. So now she will randomly say to me "Princess and the Frog called me "Shuga" and then smile real big.
