A Summer of Fun

There are three things that my kids look forward to each summer----

1. Camping at Deception Pass with Joe's family--this happened last weekend, pictures to follow

2. Orcas Island with the girls and kids in Joe's family--not going until the end of August

3. Field Day in Utah with Grandma and Grandpa--See below :)

If you are 2 y.o. and a grand child you are invited to attend.

Claire, Peyton, Jaren, Ethan, Addison, Hallie, and Carter.

This year it was

"Rumble in the Jungle"

They got to do all kinds of activities in "the Jungle"

Please DO feed the elephants
How tall is a giraffe?
Hatch python eggs (water balloons)
Monkey business
Wild Animal Hunt
Catch the Lion by the Tail
Hippo Pond
Danger-Pirhana Pond
Grrrr! We're thirsty!

Addison climbs as high as a giraffe. . . at least a baby giraffe :)

Running to get the tigers water.

I love the 4th of July!

I love the 4th of July!!

The fireworks, the balloons, the BBQ, the fighter jets that fly over the parade in the morning, the sun, family, friends,

Our FREEDOM. . .and those who fought for it!!

Our fun fireworks!

Peyton helps light the fireworks.

Super soaker fight earlier in the day :)

Are we tired?!

The timed water balloon ball--don't be holding it when the timer goes off or the pin will pop the balloon and you will be wet!

Up, up and away. . .

We were reading in our AAA magazine in Washington before we headed to Utah. One of the articles had things to do in the summer in different areas and one of them was the Provo Freedom Festival Balloon festival--it was to be starring a special balloon from Belgium--Darth Vader!! So we had to go!

We used to go when we were kids. Peyton, Addison and I dragged my parents out of bed at 5:30 to go see the balloons. We couldn't get Joe out of bed :(

It was a beautiful morning and we had a lot of fun!

After launch. . .

This flower one is Addison's favorite!

May the Force be with You. .

Peyton's favorite--of course.

We saw flying pigs :)

And the tallest balloon in the world. A Coke bottle. Although it couldn't launch as there was no where that it could land with enough clearance.

Nobody was to ornery, even if it was early!
