Dancing Dads?!. . .

Addison had her yearly recitals on May 18-19 for Summit Dance Co.

Last year when they opened they started a Daddy/Daughter Dance which Joe and Addison did last year.  It was very cute.

This year they did it again.

It is always a little bit of a surprise on what they are going to do.  But always so much fun!

She has been on the Elite team this year and had a dance in ballet, musical theater, jazz, lyrical, tap, hip hop, and all-team

Hip Hop--MY ADIDAS

Lyrical--FOR YOU I WILL

Tap--THE TROLLEY SONG

Jazz--SHARP DRESSED MAN

Musical Theater--FREAK FLAG

All Team--ROCK THE CASBAH

Happy Birthday Miss Magoo!

Today Addison turns 11.

11? How can that even be?
It doesn’t seem like it has been that long.
There are days it seems like just yesterday.

She came into the world in whirlwind fashion, in a matter of a few hours.

She ramped up to spunk over the first year of her life, and after that has been spunky, sassy (sometimes), beautiful, smart, caring, compassionate, funny.

We love 💕 you Addison!!

Intense—In10sity

Addison had her last regional dance competition before Nationals in Vegas.  It was In10sity in Tukwila.

Summit Dance Co did well!

Lots of Platinum awards!

We got to see Cierra do her solo.  It was beautiful!

And “My Adidas” even made the In10sity Instagram page today.

Moms and “Duffins”

Addison and I went to Mom’s and Muffins
at Cherry 🍒 Valley Elementary today.

On they way there we were getting ourselves all tongue tied with muffins, duffins, dad’s and mom’s.

It was a fun, quick time and then she went off to band.

Cookie Dough Chaos

We have almost successfully made 767 pounds of cookie dough.  Maybe slightly more as the chocolate chip made more than we were expecting.

We finished the chocolate chip at Ensign Ranch.  (With little drama 😉)

But it was a lot of work!!

And we decided to wave the white flag on the Monster Cookie dough getting finished on Friday night.  So we divvied up the monster ingredients and made that yesterday and today.  I finished up 45 pounds of that today, out of about 270 ish pounds.

Phew!!

It may be time to look at a different fundraiser option.

But at least for now, we are almost done.

Track season has begun

Track season has begun.

Peyton has decided to do track this year.

Today was the first meet.  It was an invitational at Chief Kanim in Fall City.

He ran the 4 x 100m

And threw shot put.
Today his best was 24.9 for shot put.

A ton of cookie 🍪 dough

When you are making 767 pounds of cookie dough. . .

. . .you need a lot of instruction tags.

Chocolate Chip and Gluten Free Monster cookies for the win!

We are going to Ensign Ranch with the YW Friday and Saturday to make lots of cookie dough for their cookie dough camp fundraiser.

Wish us luck!

(It’s like 170 single batches of cookies 😳)

That’s a wrap. . .

Peyton and I spent most of the week at the Stake Center for Built on the Rock this week.

There was tech rehearsal, dress rehearsal, and 4 shows (Friday night and 3 on Saturday).  Along with dinner, lunch, dinner, lots of snacks and games and devotionals.

The youth made new friends in other wards, laughed, cried, there were injuries (minor) and lots of fun.

Joe, Addison and I (I came out from behind the scenes cooking and lining up Kids) watched the last show Saturday night.

It was a beautiful show!

Peyton said he was kind of glad to have it done because it’s been so busy, but that he was going to miss it!

Laman meets Addison

Some of Peyton’s friends—Preston (Stripling Warrior), Ian (Lemuel), Bryce (Angel for the Sons of Mosish)

Great big muscles 💪

Built on the Rock

As a Redmond Stake youth we have been working in Built on the Rock since September or October.

Music first, then scenes and now finally its show week!

Peyton is Laman in the Lehi scene
“Show Us the Way”

Although it will be nice to have our ward time back it’s going to be a lovely show!

So much time and work has gone into it!

Olympic Game Farm

We wanted something fun to do today since Spring Break is coming to an end.

I had heard of the Olympic Game Farm, but we have never been.  It’s out in Sequim, out on the peninsula and not real close.  But since we had time today and it wasn’t pouring rain we decided we’d go for it.

We got up this morning and took the Edmonds—Kingston ferry ⛴ over to the peninsula.  Then drove up to Sequim.

We didn’t really know what we were getting in to.  Just knew it was a “drive through zoo”.

Oh my!!  We were pleasantly surprised.  We had visitors practically in our car.  And we were laughing so hard sometimes to the point of tears.

We got four loaves of wheat bread to feed to them. And boy were the animals (and the seagulls and crows) loving the bread!!  And the kids went through all four loaves feeding them.

We saw llamas, zebras, bears, bison, elk, wolves, fox, prarie dogs, bunnies, seagulls, crows, horses, deer. . .

I think we made some friends that wanted to come home with us 😉

What exactly is a watershed?

The Redmond Watershed. . . what is a watershed?

Peyton and I went for a walk today at the Redmond Watershed, but I always wonder when I go by there,

What is a watershed?

Well according to Webster it is. . .

While we were walking is rained, hailed, was cloudy and clear blue skies.  Just wait 5 minutes and the weather will change 😉

The tortoise and the hair

Peyton and I went for a walk on the Snoqualmie trail today.  It rained all morning but stopped when I got home from work.

Peyton is trying to eat healthy and exercise more so he suggested we go for a walk.  And so off we went.  He probably thought I was a little like the tortoise (slow) :). But he didn’t say so.  Addison didn’t want to come with us so she stayed home.

Afterwards we went to get Peyton a haircut.  He’s been pretty fluffy the last couple of weeks and it was definitely time.  He has decided that he really likes the MVP at Sports Clips.  Lol!  It includes a scalp massage and hair wash.  I do love that you can “get in line” online before you head there.

He’s looking pretty good!

(Except he’s mad that the Internet is out and doing weird things).

We don’t have a consistently good internet connection.
