Well maybe just PLANES. Peyton brought home a paper airplane making book from the school library so we made a couple of them. The "Rainy Day Plane" and the "High Winger". We found that the "High Winger" flew a lot better that the other. It was a nice Sunday afternoon activity, before the rain came down again :)

The Emerald City
We had visitors!! The Gustaveson's came up to visit for a day while they were in Oregon visiting Melissa's sister. The kids were so excited to see Nicholas and Emma. That was evidently all Peyton could talk about at school on Thursday because his teacher, Mrs. Baughman knew about it and Hallie's mom told me that Hallie had told her all about it. Very cute.
We went to "downtown Seattle" per Peyton and walked around Pike Place Market, ate at Lowell's which did have yummy food but was quite expensive ($68 for four of us and that was with the kids sharing a fish and chips) The weather was beautiful!
The kids were not excited to say goodbye though, especially Peyton and Nicholas who thought they should have spent 3 days instead of 1 :)

Playdates and horses
Addison and I had a play date a week or so ago. We went shopping at the outlets, Addison rode a horse (an electronic one that is), out to dinner at a little sandwich shop (where Addison ordered Tomato Basil soup, hmm?! and ate it), and then got ice cream at Ben and Jerry's.
I remember the first time I went to a Ben and Jerry's (Do you remember dad?) We found it in San Diego. Yummy! We had always had it from the store and I really wanted a cone. And then I never went to another one until the other day.
Anyhow our playdate was nice and Addison got a new rain coat. And then it stopped raining. If only I had known earlier that that was all it would take to make it stop raining :) But we are set now if it starts up again.
What do you do for a playdate with your kids?

Walk-A-Thon

Margaret Mead Elementary Walk-A-Thon
Peyton's school had their first big activity and fundraiser. The kids and parents walked around the school. For every 2 laps they got a raffle ticket and a piece of licorice. The lower grades did 10 laps. And then they got one raffle ticket for each physical challenge. Lots of kids, lots of raffle tickets. What are the odds Peyton will win something? I guess we'll soon see.

Surprise!!
We surprised Grandma and Grandpa on Thursday night by flying in to SLC. They had no idea we were coming. Bruce picked us up at the airport and Amber took us over to their house and SURPRISE!!!!
On Friday morning we went on our REGULAR walk around the Eastlawn Cemetary with Grandma Della. We had yummy cranberry bagels from Day's Market and walked around. There is a lovely view of Utah Valley.
Addison, Grandma Della, Peyton, and Greta (grandma's daschund)
Then we went on a drive up around the Alpine Loop to see the leaves and then we went and had lunch in Heber City. Home of the Train (the Heber Creeper that is) Check it out http://www.dairykeen.com. It was yummy and they had a delicious fresh peach shake. Mmm! Mmm!
Eating on the train. Outside in the sun (which was great because we haven't seen much sun as of late in Seattle)
Then we went to see the newest member of the Peterson family. Nixon Colby Peterson--born September 23, 2010.
Peyton and Nixon--Peyton asked if he could wash his hands and touch the baby. I asked if he wanted to rub Nixon's back while Grandma held him. Then Colby offered for him to hold Nixon. Peyton jumped at the chance. Isn't he cute?
